Welcome Summer Campers!

Welcome to Forest Camp where summer campers can discover the wonder and science of nature! Weekly thematic programming is designed to help prepare campers by developing social skills and highlighting nature, inquiry, creativity, movement, art, and music.

All Forest Camp sessions are tailored for rising second through eighth graders. Campers are grouped by their Fall 2026 grade level.

One t-shirt per camper will be provided for the season.

Pricing

Full five-day week: $380

Four-day holiday week (June 29 - July 2): $305

Before OR after care: $60/week (pro-rated to $48 for the four-day week)

Before AND after care: $120/week (pro-rated to $96 for the four-day week)

    Creek Week Scientists

    H2-Whoa! Aquatic science takes center stage this week as campers explore creek ecosystems and learn the importance of watersheds. Creek Week campers will learn what it’s like to be a scientist as they collect data and conduct experiments, discover creek critters, and play exciting water games to cool off from the summer heat!

    Eco-Artists

    Connect with the natural world through art, music, and storytelling. Eco-artist campers will unleash their creativity while connecting with the outdoors, using nature as their artistic inspiration. Campers will design their own national park and field journals, create collaborative art projects using natural and recycled materials, and play exciting water games to build teamwork skills!

    Animal Adventures

    Discover the hidden world of animals in Prince William Forest Park! Animal Adventure campers will learn about animals and how they use their habitat from experienced wildlife professionals, practice animal identification skills, explore trails, and play games like Camouflage to learn more about animal adaptations in action!

    Jr. Park Rangers

    Prepare for outdoor adventures and test your Junior Ranger skills! Jr. Park Ranger campers will learn how to use their natural resources and outdoor tools to be confident and trail ready. Meet different park rangers, learn how to make campfires and camp meals, learn how to fish by building fishing rods, and practice backcountry ranger skills!

Sample Daily Schedule

  • The following day would be a typical day in our Animal Adaptations Theme week:

    8:45-9:00 a.m.: All campers arrive at the picnic tables. The entire camp sings songs, plays games, and listens to announcements.

    9:30 a.m.: Campers get on trail with their camp groups.

    10:00 a.m.: Campers learn more about the adaptations of Prince William Forest Park animals by playing a quick team builder activity.

    10:30 a.m.: Campers will hike down to Quantico creek and work together to ID unique plants.

    11:30 a.m.: Campers have lunch on trail, enjoying classic lunch games.

    12:00-1:45 p.m.: Activity Block: during this time students head to their daily activity block with their trail groups ranging from Skins & Skulls lab, Fishing, Stayin’ Alive (a large group ecology game), and more!

    2:00 p.m.: Water play time to cool off on a hot day.

    2:30-2:45 p.m.: Snack time!

    2:45-3:00 p.m.: End of Camp Day and Camper pick-up.
